Top 5 Tips for promoting SEOTY 2018
SEOTY nominations are officially open for 2018 and we have compiled our top 5 tips for promoting
SEOTY in your institution.
1. Big launch
Pick a day during NSEW to launch your SEOTY nominations, put posters banners and balloons (SEOTY colors) in your department, change your social media pictures and if you are able to your email signature to promote SEOTY.
2. SEOTY Tea and Cake!
Everyone loves cake right?! So why not invite line managers of student staff in your institution and talk to them about SEOTY and its benefits.You could even have printed copies of the nomination packs that you can go through with them and answer any questions!
3. Email to Employers
It sounds so simple, but it is a perfect way to re-engage with employers who use your service during term 2. Explain the benefits of SEOTY and include links to the website, you can also use this opportunity to refresh employers about your service.
4. Information session for Students
Hold a workshop on SEOTY for students working part time, explaining the benefits of a SEOTY award and how it can increase their employability. Tell them to speak to their employers about nominating them, also don’t forget they can nominate their employer too!
5. Shout about your Winners!
Contact your winners from previous years, whether they are institutional, regional or national and find out what they are up to now. You can use that to publish short interviews as part of student newsletters, website stories, and through social media.
